ALBURY, LAKE MULWALA AND COROWA
Albury has a distinctive character with grand old buildings, richly established gardens and broad tree-lined streets. We’ll see Monument Hill constructed in 1923 and stand 493 feet above sea level. Close by is the Albury Botanical Gardens, with the first trees being planted in 1877. At Yarrawonga, we join the Paradise Queen for our luncheon cruise on Lake Mulwala. THE SILO ART TRAIL
Today we’re hunting striking artworks painted on silos in Victorian townships. Tungamah was the first of the silos painted and features several Brolgas and a Kookaburra. In St James you will notice a large mural of Sir George Coles, the founder of Coles Supermarkets. The Devenish silo features both a First World War nurse and a modern-day combat medic. The Goorambat silos were painted by famed iconic Melbourne Street artist Dvate, known for his striking renditions of endangered animals from across Australia. Whilst in Goorambat we will also see the impressive “Sophia” mural in the Uniting Church. After lunch we welcome a local guide on-board the coach for a guided tour of Benalla, pointing out the many wall murals. We return to Albury following a great days sightseeing.

HEADING HOME
Our travels home take us into the historic Mitchell Shire, nestled in the scenic plains, valleys and mountains of the Goulburn River and Ranges. This ‘geographical heart” of Victoria surrounds the Campaspe and Goulburn Rivers and contains many hidden treasures. Nagambie is home to legendary race horse Black Caviar, born here in 2006 and finished her career unbeaten, winning all 25 of her races and claiming almost $8 million in prize money. We now board the Goulburn Explorer for our lunch cruise, passing horse studs and wineries. After a relaxing couple of hours, we reboard the coach and make our way back to Melbourne, where our chauffeurs will await our arrival to transfer us safely home with memories of a fascinating and rewarding tour.
