Lakes Entrance is Australia’s largest inland network of waterways. It is situated on the edge of Ninety Mile Beach where the Gippsland Lakes meets the Southern Ocean. Metung Hotel situated right on the waterfront and the historic Marlo Hotel is perched on the hill, overlooking the estuaries and entrance. We take a delightful scenic drive across the Strzelecki Ranges and visit a boutique cheese maker where we taste test their produce and hear their story. This tour provides relaxation time as we meander our way through the area and plenty of photo opportunities for our budding photographers.

DAY 1: friday 18th march, 2022
MELBOURNE TO LAKES ENTRANCE
Welcome! This morning our chauffeurs will take us to meet our O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours coach and crew for our fabulous 5 day Seabreeze by the Lakes tour! We travel east along the Princes Highway to Warragul for lunch at the Warragul Country Club. We’ll enjoy our lovely meal overlooking the golf course before setting off to Lakes Entrance. We will arrive mid afternoon with time to enjoy a stroll along the water front.

EXPLORING OUR SURROUNDS
After breakfast this morning we meet our local expert for a town tour, followed by a sensational cruise along one of Australia's great inland waterways. An informative commentary and plenty of undercover seating makes this cruise a highlight of our tour. Lunch will be waiting for us at the Metung Hotel right on the waterfront. We then take a relaxed cruise back to Lakes Entrance.

DAY 3: sunday 20th march, 2022
BAIRNSDALE AND THE PAYNESVILLE LAKES
Nearby Bairnsdale is an idyllic garden town with many reminders of the booming gold rush days. Here we are joined by a local expert for a tour of the town. Some of Bairnsdale’s architecture is of interest; the most striking building in the town is the Court House in Nicholson St which was opened in 1894. It is recognized as one of Victoria's finest examples of late 19th century architecture and is considered of some significance to the development of an Australian style. We now head back to the coast for a unique visit. Soak in the peaceful water views while being embraced by the warm hospitality of a home hosted lunch with locals. Hans is inspiring in his passion for their extensive garden with years of horticultural knowledge while Trudy is definitely the “host with the most” as she displays a lunch spread of homemade produce that is truly impressive. There will be some time this afternoon to take a stroll and walk off our lunch.

DAY 4: monday 21st march, 2022
EXPLORING THE REGION
We make our way up the coast to Marlo where we break for lunch at the Historic Marlo Hotel before continuing to Cape Conran. We enjoy the great coastal views from the West Cape and then make our way back to Lakes Entrance. We stop at Orbost and the Orbost Exhibition Centre, located on the Snowy River and surrounded by beautiful Forest Park. The exhibition is all about timber including the National Collection of Wood Design which is on permanent display. We have time to enjoy a retail showroom, a gallery for professional artists, and views over the Forest Park.

DAY 5: Tuesday 22nd March, 2022
LAKES ENTRANCE TO MELBOURNE
We head for home today and we still have a lovely day in store as we follow the Princess Highway through Sale to Traralgon. At South Traralgon there is a fantastic lookout called “Miners View.” Loy Yang Power Station is Victoria’s biggest power station complex and produces a combined total power output of over 3000 megawatts of electricity, which is in excess of 40% of the entire State’s base load power supply. From the lookout we get a stunning view over the huge, 700 hectare, 180 metre deep open cut coal mine with the gigantic bucket wheel excavators digging coal for the power station. A short drive takes us to Morwell for lunch. We then enjoy a delightful scenic drive across the Strzelecki Ranges to Prom Country Cheese in the beautiful hills of South Gippsland. The focus is on producing sheep milk for cheese and we have a chance to taste the produce and hear their story before arriving home this afternoon after a great tour. As always, our chauffeurs will be waiting to take us straight to our very door – a delightful way to finish our time away and all part of the great O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours service!

Our full size 3 axle luxury coaches have only 32-36 passenger seats allowing you even more personal space and extra leg room. Our coaches are fitted with comfortable reclining seats with aisle arm rests, foot rests, seat belts, panoramic windows with blinds, refrigerator for passenger use, restroom, climate control air conditioning & Road Cam monitors which display the road ahead in real time. PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Receipt of payment of funds will be taken as acceptance of O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours conditions of travel for this tour. Prices include GST and all taxes.
Deposit is fully refundable until 46 days prior to departure date.
Balance due on invoice approximately 45 days prior to departure.
Cancellation 45 to 8 days before tour departure date, 20% Refund of Tour Cost.
Cancellation within 7 days of tour departure date, No Refund.
On or after tour date departure, No Refund.
If a tour is cancelled for any reason by O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours before the departure date, all passengers will be offered the option of transferring to another tour of their choice, hold the funds in trust for a future tour or a full refund. There is no time limit as to when this must be used. If a lockdown is implemented while a tour is in progress, our first priority is the safety and wellbeing of our passengers and ensuring that we get each and every one of them home safely, and therefore we treat every situation individually. Travel insurance is not compulsory, however we highly recommend our passengers take out comprehensive travel insurance with a reputable provider at the time the balance of the tour is paid. Our office can provide contact information for companies we know are now providing travel insurance. It is a condition of travel that all passengers must be fully vaccinated against COVID19 unless medically exempt, and confirmation must be provided to our office upon payment of your invoice/booking.
