DAY 1: thursday 7th july, 2022
MELBOURNE TO WERRIBEE
Welcome to our 4 day awe inspiring Q Train Wintertime Tour. With chauffeured pickup from home, we are transferred to met our O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours coach and crew. Our journey this morning takes us to nearby Werribee and the Werribee Open Range Zoo. The zoo has a focus on African animals so we’ll board our special safari bus to take a tour amongst some of the world’s iconic grassland animals. We will be completely immersed in the sights, smells and sounds of the savannah as we travel across the Zoo’s open plains. The magnificent wildlife, including rhinos, giraffes, zebras and antelopes will seem almost touchable. After our tour we have some free time to enjoy a stroll along the walking tracks to see other animals such as the Meerkats. The zoo is also our lunch venue, in the large onsite café. Close by is the Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park. The property was once considered an Australian version of the English country house and garden and a symbol of Australia's pastoral elite in the colonial era. In the 1920’s it was a Catholic seminary and now it’s a magnificent hotel, surrounded by 10 acres of formal English gardens. This is our indulgent home for the next three nights! There’s time this afternoon to walk through the State Rose Garden featuring thousands of plants in the shape of a giant Tudor rose.

day 2: friday 8th july, 2022
THE Q TRAIN EXPERIENCE
This morning we make our way through Geelong and on to the Bellarine Peninsula to Drysdale Railway Station to board The Q Train. The dining journey includes an exceptional degustation of fresh local produce, all cooked and prepared on board the well-appointed kitchen car. As the train whistle sounds the journey begins, travelling along the beautiful Bellarine Railway, offering views of the rolling hills of The Bellarine. One of the courses will be served soon after departure. The Q Train will pause at Suma Park Historic Homestead, where we can stretch our legs. The journey continues travelling alongside beautiful Swan Bay. The Q Train runs for approximately 3 hours, and as The Q Train closes its return journey into Drysdale Railway station, staff will make their way around the train to make sure we enjoyed our trip.
Please note: COVID-19 restrictions may apply to our journey aboard the Q Train. We may be required to stay in our seats between the set courses of our degustation menu. While we may not be able to explore the other carriages, we can read about them in the information books on our tables. Staff upon the Q Train can share their knowledge about the rich history of the train, the locomotives or the renovation journey. Our coach will be waiting for us and we return to our hotel to complete a memorable day. As we may not really need any dinner this evening we are free to choose if we dine in house or not.

This morning we are introduced to a local guide that will hop on board our coach for a more extensive tour of Geelong city. After our tour we make our way to our lunch venue, right on the water at the Geelong Boat House – just perfect. This afternoon we visit the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre. Sophisticated and technology-rich, this world-class facility is designed to meet the expectations of 21st century public library users, providing contemporary and innovative library and information services. Within the iconic domed building, there are five public levels – all beautiful, inspiring and inclusive spaces for reading, studying, meeting, discovery and fun.

It’s been a lovely break and now it’s time to wend our way home. We head to Woodlands Historic Park, home to Woodlands Homestead and Living Legends racehorses. Woodlands Homestead is a unique and treasured heritage building that now houses an extensive art collection, historic artefacts and horse racing memorabilia. Living Legends is home to some of Australia’s finest retired champion racehorses including Melbourne Cup winners, Rogan Josh (1999), Brew (2000), Efficient (2007), Prince Of Penzance (2015) and Almadin (2016). Following lunch, we head for home, where our chauffeurs will be waiting to take us to our very doors. A lovely end to our exciting tour!

Victorian passengers from Greater Melbourne, Bendigo, Torquay, Ballarat, Geelong, the Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas, Phillip Island and selected areas of Gippsland will be picked up from home in a private chauffeured vehicle by one of our professional drivers.
For Victorian passengers not within this pick up zone, or our interstate passengers a quote can be provided for home pickup in extended areas. At the end of your tour, you will be safely returned home with memories of a sensational tour.
Luxury Touring Coaches
Our full size, 3 axle luxury coaches have only 32-36 passenger seats allowing you even more personal space and extra leg room. Our coaches are fitted with comfortable reclining seats with aisle arm rests, foot rests, seat belts, panoramic windows with blinds, refrigerator for passenger use, restroom, climate control air conditioning and Road Cam monitors which display the road ahead in real time. Each coach has a second door for easier entry and exit and touchless hand sanitizer dispensers at each entry to help keep everyone safe. PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Receipt of payment of funds will be taken as acceptance of O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours conditions of travel for this tour. Prices include GST and all taxes.
Deposit is fully refundable until 46 days prior to departure date.
Balance due on invoice approximately 45 days prior to departure.
Cancellation 45 to 8 days before tour departure date, 20% Refund of Tour Cost.
Cancellation within 7 days of tour departure date, No Refund.
On or after tour date departure, No Refund.
If a tour is cancelled for any reason by O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours before the departure date, all passengers will be offered the option of transferring to another tour of their choice, hold the funds in trust for a future tour or a full refund. There is no time limit as to when this must be used. If a lockdown is implemented while a tour is in progress, our first priority is the safety and wellbeing of our passengers and ensuring that we get each and every one of them home safely, and therefore we treat every situation individually. Travel insurance is not compulsory, however we highly recommend our passengers take out comprehensive travel insurance with a reputable provider at the time the balance of the tour is paid. Our office can provide contact information for companies we know are now providing travel insurance. It is a condition of travel that all passengers must be fully vaccinated against COVID19 unless medically exempt, and confirmation must be provided to our office upon payment of your invoice/booking.
