ITINERARY

  • DAY 1: Wednesday 31st March, 2027

    MELBOURNE TO SYDNEY

Welcome to our spectacular 3-day tour to experience AIDA on Sydney Harbour. With chauffeured pickup from home, we are transferred to Melbourne Airport, where we meet our O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours representative and board our flight to Sydney. Upon our arrival, we meet our coach and head out to enjoy lunch, followed by a visit to Rouse Hill Estate. This location is one of Australia's most culturally important historic properties, not only for its artefacts, furnishings, buildings and gardens, but also because it is the most complete document of continuous family occupancy of a country house in New South Wales. We take a tour through the house before heading to our hotel, where we have time to relax and settle in for the next two nights.

    OVERNIGHT: Parkroyal Darling Harbour, SYDNEY

  • DAY 2: Thursday 1st April, 2027

    AIDA ON SYDNEY HARBOUR

This morning we meet a local guide for a sightseeing tour of the stunning city, including Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair on the harbour foreshore. The chair was carved out of sandstone by convicts for Governor Lachlan Macquarie’s wife, in order for her to watch the activity on the harbour and await the arrival of ships from England. The point provides us with wonderful views of the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and Fort Denison. From here, we head around to North Head for our tour of the Q Station. The Quarantine Station was used from 1833 to 1984 for migrant ships carrying passengers with suspected contagious diseases. These passengers and crew were off-loaded into quarantine to protect residents. As we explore the history of the Quarantine Station, its historical buildings and stunning grounds, we’ll hear the personal stories of passengers quarantined and the dedicated staff who lived and worked on site. Afterwards we enjoy lunch before returning to our hotel to freshen up before an early dinner and special evening ahead.

AIDA - Few stages in the world can match Sydney Harbour for a production of this scale: as city lights begin to sparkle and the Sydney Opera House is silhouetted against the setting sun. But amid all of the spectacle, there’s an emotional heart. Long after the fireworks have faded from the sky and Amneris sings her quiet, concluding prayer, you’ll see the true mastery of this opera: it is at once an historic epic and a profoundly moving human tragedy.

    OVERNIGHT: Parkroyal Darling Harbour, SYDNEY

PLEASE NOTE: Due to traffic restrictions and regulations, which are completely out of our control, the coach may not be able to drop off or pick up close to the venue. You may need to walk a distance.

  • DAY 3: Friday 2nd April, 2027

    SYDNEY TO MELBOURNE

What an amazing night! Today, we make the most of our final day as we set off to cruise Sydney Harbour. Sit back and enjoy discovering more of this spectacular city as our knowledgeable skipper provides live commentary while we take in the many sights and highlights of the harbour. While on board, we’ll also enjoy morning tea as we soak up the wonderful views. Back on dry land, we have a lovely final lunch at the Bay Window Bistro at the Randwick Golf Club, where we can enjoy stunning views of Malabar Beach. Afterwards, we head to Sydney Airport and join our flight back to Melbourne. As always, our chauffeurs will be waiting to take us straight to our very door – a delightful way to finish our time away and all part of the great O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours service!
