O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours will match single travellers who wish to twin share with another single traveller of the same gender.

However, if this is not possible, in most cases you shall be provided with single accommodation at the twin share fare

(no additional cost).

 

If you are willing to twin share but are a smoker, have a CPAP machine or snore, you will need to pay the single supplement for a sole use room.

  • DAY 1: Thursday 15th April, 2027

    MELBOURNE TO HORSHAM


    Welcome to our tour to the beautiful Adelaide Hills in Autumn. With chauffeured pickup from home, we are transferred to meet our O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours coach and crew. Today is a travel day so sit back and enjoy the facilities aboard our 5 star touring coach as we depart Melbourne. Later this afternoon we visit the awe-inspiring Murtoa Stick Shed. Crafted from 560 natural mountain ash poles, it spans 270m, reaching 19m in height and 60m in width—an overwhelming testament to bush-style construction. Our first overnight stop is in

    Horsham.

  • DAY 2: Friday 16th April, 2027

    HORSHAM TO HAHNDORF, ADELAIDE HILLS


    Following breakfast, we continue our journey towards the South Australian border. Look out for silo art as we leave Horsham and pass through Kaniva. This afternoon, we continue on the Dukes Highway through many small farming towns, stopping at Coonalpyn to view the magnificent artwork on the towns grain silo, before seeing the Murray River near Tailem Bend. The last leg of our travels today takes us past Murray Bridge, then to Hahndorf. The delightful Reisen Hotel is located right in the heart of this historic town.

  • DAY 3: Saturday 17th April, 2027

    EXPLORING HAHNDORF


    We have a wonderful day planned! First we meet our local guide for a unique tour of Hahndorf locations not available to the general public. Inside the historic St Paul’s Lutheran Church, we’ll hear about the early settlers of Hahndorf and their flight from Prussia in 1838 to escape religious persecution, plus admire the pioneering women for their faith and entrepreneurial spirit after hearing the story of the Pioneer Women’s Walk. We’ll then have free time to explore this wonderful Adelaide Hills village before heading to Beerenberg Farm. Here, we’ll enjoy a talk and learn more about this six-generation family farm, followed by time to browse the shop filled with delicious homemade Australian jams, chutneys and sauces made right here. We enjoy lunch here before returning to our hotel. Some may like to head out again, while others may prefer to relax before dinner.

  • DAY 4: Sunday 18th April, 2027

    GOOLWA, THE COCKLE TRAIN & VICTOR HARBOR


    First stop today is charming Strathalbyn, famous for its antiques and gorgeous heritage streetscapes. Here we enjoy morning tea at the beautiful Strathalbyn Soldiers Memorial Gardens, surrounded by roses and historic monuments. We continue to the historical township of Goolwa, an aboriginal word meaning ”elbow” and where the Murray River meets the sea. Heading to the historic Goolwa Wharf Precinct, we board the Cockle Train for a run along the oldest steel railed railway in Australia dating back to 1887. The train gained its name from the early days of settlement when the local residents would take a horse drawn train to Goolwa to collect cockles from the sandy beaches near the mouth of the Murray River. Our journey takes us via Middleton, Port Elliot to arrive at the seaside town of Victor Harbor. Once a whaling town it is now a favourite spot for whale sightings. We have some free time in the town centre to buy lunch before returning to Hahndorf, taking the delightful sightseeing drive via Mount Compass, Willunga Hill, Meadows and Echunga.

  • DAY 5: Monday 19th April, 2027

    MONARTO SAFARI PARK


    Today we visit Monarto Safari Park, the largest open-range safari experience outside of Africa and is home to more than 50 species of exotic and native animals. The zoo plays a major role, nationally and internationally, in breeding programs for rare and endangered species. We’ll be joined on board our coach by a qualified guide for a safari tour of the park. After a light lunch, we’re in for a real treat! The Lions 360 Experience is the only 360 degree lion experience in Australia. Walk through a tunnel and emerge within clawing range of one of Australia’s largest lion prides. Enjoy a jaw-dropping, absolutely safe encounter, giving a prey’s-eye view into the world of these awe-inspiring predators! After some time to view the exhibits and a poke through the Zoo’s gift shop we return to Hahndorf with time to freshen up before dinner.

  • DAY 6: Tuesday 20th April, 2027

    HAHNDORF TO MOUNT GAMBIER


    This morning we say farewell to our hosts and head south east. Travelling on the freeway to

    Murray Bridge we then head to Meningie for our morning break on the shores of Lake Albert. We’ll see a different view of the Coorong National Park on our right. The whole area is a superb natural bird sanctuary with vast numbers of waterbirds. The movie Storm Boy, a film about a young boy’s friendship with a pelican, was shot on the Coorong. Arriving in Kingston we see the Big Lobster and stop for lunch. This afternoon, we continue along the coast to Mount Gambier. Upon arrival we view the famous Blue Lake - the largest of the many crater lakes in the area before checking into our overnight accommodation.

  • DAY 7: Wednesday 21st April, 2027

    MOUNT GAMBIER TO MELBOURNE


    Before leaving Mount Gambier this morning we visit Umpherston Sinkhole, a large limestone sinkhole transformed into a stunning garden by Scottish settler James Umpherston in the late 1800s. A staircase leads to the bottom of this natural wonder, where visitors can admire the lush garden and look up through the opening to the sky above — a truly mesmerising experience. We farewell Mount Gambier and begin our journey to Melbourne. Stopping along the way for lunch we make our way home – no need for a taxi as our chauffeurs will be on hand to take us straight to our door – all part of the O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours superior service!

Complimentary Chauffeur Driven Transfers

Victorian passengers from Greater Melbourne, Bendigo, Torquay, Ballarat, Geelong, the Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas, Phillip Island and selected areas of Gippsland will be picked up and returned home in a private chauffeured vehicle by one of our professional drivers. For passengers not within this pick up zone, or our interstate passengers, a quote can be provided for home pickup in extended areas.

Our full size luxury coaches have only 32-36 passenger seats allowing you even more personal space and extra leg room. Our coaches are fitted with comfortable reclining seats with aisle arm rests, foot rests, seat belts, panoramic windows with blinds, refrigerator for passenger use, restroom, climate control air conditioning and Road Cam monitors which display the road ahead in real time. Each coach has a second door for easier entry and exit and

If a tour is cancelled for any reason by O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours before the departure date, all passengers will be offered the option of transferring to another tour of their choice, hold the funds in trust for a future tour or a full refund.
