MELBOURNE TO ALBURY

Welcome to our fabulous Bundanoon is Brigadoon tour! With chauffeured pickup from home, we are transferred to meet our O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours coach and crew. We’ll make a stop for morning tea enroute to Benalla where we enjoy lunch. This afternoon, we’ll see street art, where artists from around the world have come together to paint stunning murals on bare walls, some of which rise over three stories high. We now continue to Albury for our first night’s accommodation.

ALBURY TO BOWRAL

Departing Albury, enjoy the open road before stopping at the beautiful privately owned Garroorigang Historic Home. Here we’ll enjoy lunch before being personally lead through 157 years of living Australian history in the unique setting of a lived-in family home. Continuing on, we arrive into Bowral with time to relax before dinner.

BUNDANOON IS BRIGADOON

Today we experience the excitement of the Annual Highland Gathering – “Brigadoon”. Thousands line the streets as the Parade begins where hundreds of pipes and drums, colourful floats and displays, marchers and vintage cars make their way to the grounds for the games. We have pre-arranged our tickets - the profits from their sale contributing to many worthwhile charities and community causes in the Bundanoon area. As the Official Opening ceremony takes place, the Chieftain of the Day welcomes visitors to the gathering, inspects the massed bands and clan representatives, and presides over the day. After the inspection, the bands retire and the games begin. Discover Scottish Country & Highland dancing, individual Pipe Band displays and for the dog-lovers, Highland Cavaliers and Southern Highland Kennel & Obedience Club. Enjoy the traditional and not-so-traditional games from caber toss, shot putt to hay toss haggis hurling! What fun! The day ends with the Closing Ceremony after which, we return to our accommodation in Bowral.

FITZROY FALLS AND BOWRAL

This morning we can appreciate the beauty of this area as we travel to the exciting Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk. There is some walking involved but the views over the treetops and down the Illawarra coastline are magnificent. Next, we enjoy lunch before heading to the Fitzroy Falls Visitors Centre, located in the middle of the cool rainforest. Meeting our guide for Interpretive Tour, we stroll along the boardwalk to the top of the Fitzroy Falls. The scenery is stunning! Afterwards we return to Bowral. Prepare to be enchanted by the sights and sounds of Fairground Follies, akin to visiting an old-fashioned amusement park with its collection of self-playing instruments and mechanical music, fair organs, street organs and a 100-year-old steam carousel. It will be a fun afternoon, cherishing memories of the local fair! Afterwards we return to our hotel.

BOWRAL TO WAGGA WAGGA

Our first stop today is in the picturesque village of Jugiong. This charming riverside town is home to the famous Jugiong Wine Cellar and the renowned Long Track Pantry. We take time to browse this delightful country food store, celebrated for its exceptional range of handcrafted gourmet produce, artisan gifts and local specialties that have become favourites with both locals and travellers alike. After enjoying lunch, we continue to the historic town of Junee. Here, we visit the popular Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory, where there is time to sample and purchase a tempting selection of handmade chocolates, licorice and sweet

treats before we complete the final leg of our journey to Wagga Wagga.

WAGGA WAGGA TO SHEPPARTON

This morning we stop at the Marrocka Emu Farm, a family-owned working emu farm with an aspect that has a breathtaking view of The Rock. Established in 1991 by Ian and Marilyn Marston, it is one of the few emu farms in Australia that welcomes visitors. While here we will enjoy a guided tour of the farm followed by morning tea and time to puruse the emu oil products. Our lunch venue is at Buller Wines where we enjoy a wine tasting and a delicious lunch located at the Pavilion Restaurant within the Buller Wines grounds. Later this afternoon, we arrive at Shepparton where we refresh before dinner.

SHEPPARTON TO MELBOURNE

We make the most of our final day on tour today. Stopping in the small town of Rochester, we have a chance to look around and take in some of the amazing wall art. But the highlight of Rochester is the Rochester GrainCorp silos, where we can view the artwork featuring the endangered Squirrel Glider, the largest of three gliders that inhabit this region. We'll also be mesmerized by the radiant Azure Kingfisher with its blue head and body, and keep an eye out for the elusive Platypus, one of the most unusual and interesting animals in the world, which can be found at various locations along the Campaspe River. Next, stop at Colbinabbin, where we will be amazed by the artwork across six silos. Artist Tim Bowtell's work depicts five different scenes from varying times through the town's history, from the early 1900s to the 1980s. Enjoying lunch along the way, we arrive in Melbourne where, as always, our chauffeurs will be waiting to take us straight to our very door to complete a wonderful holiday full of fantastic memories of Bundanoon is Brigadoon and the Southern Highlands.
