The Gippsland region of Victoria is vast and varied. West Gippsland offers lush farmland with mountains and lakes and amazing wildlife. In the east, there’s rugged forest terrain, spectacular coastlines and pristine beaches. We’ll be visiting South Gippsland and apart from the art culture, history, wine and culinary delights, one of the region’s best known attractions is the Wilsons Promontory National Park with its striking granite peaks and an array of local flora and fauna, forming the southern-most tip of mainland Australia.

As a thank you for travelling with O'Shannessy's Quality Tours, you will automatically receive a saving on the total tour price for your second and subsequent tours.
 
In most cases, O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours will match single travellers who wish to twin share, with another single traveller of the same gender.
​However, if this is not possible, you shall be provided with single accommodation at the twin share fare (no additional cost).

​O'Shanessy's Quality Tours are now providing travel insurance through Nib Insurance. 


Travel insurance is not compulsory, however the Australian Government (see www.smarttraveller.gov.au) recommends all travellers no matter where you are going, obtain comprehensive travel insurance from a reputable provider at the time the balance of the tour is to be paid. It may enable you to claim back the cost of your tour if you are unable to travel or must cancel at late notice.

ITINERARY

  • DAY 1: SUNDAY 3RD MARCH, 2024

    MELBOURNE TO FOSTER


    Welcome to our tour through the delightful South Gippsland area. With chauffeured pickup from home, we are transferred to meet our O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours coach and crew. Our first stop today is Caldermeade Farm & Café where we'll be greeted with warm hospitality and get to experience the dairy farm's delights firsthand.  Further on in Wonthaggi, we’ll enjoy lunch then head to the Wonthaggi State Coal Mine. Here we'll uncover the fascinating story of the mine through a self-guided surface tour.  We'll journey deeper into the rolling hills and arrive at the Prom Country Lodge in Foster. But the day doesn't end there as we'll get to indulge in a delectable dinner at the hotel.

  • DAY 2: MONDAY 4TH MARCH, 2024

    ART, WINE AND THE WORKING DOG!


    Today’s a day filled with culture, wine and man's best friend!  Our first stop is Fish Creek, a charming town that's a hub for South Gippsland's arts and culture. We'll have some free time to explore the town's hidden gems, including the eclectic works at Ride the Wild Goat and the delightful works of Alison Lester, one of Australia's most beloved children's authors. We'll then head to Waratah Hills Vineyard where we'll be warmly welcomed by the owners and get to enjoy a delightful lunch, wine tastings, and breathtaking views of the surrounding valley. Next up, we'll visit Beloka Kelpies Stud and witness the amazing talents of Paul Macphail and his four-legged co-workers. It's a fun and intriguing afternoon that you won't forget!

  • DAY 3: TUESDAY 5TH MARCH, 2024

    STREET ART AND SEASIDE HISTORY


    Today, we'll discover the fascinating history and culture of South Gippsland's towns. Our first stop is Yarram, a small town that's been transformed into a gallery of murals by muralist and fine artist Heesco Khosnaran.  We'll have time to view the murals before heading to Port Albert for a takeaway fish and chips lunch at Castim by the Jetty. This afternoon, we'll visit the Regional Maritime Museum and immerse ourselves in the rich history of this seaside village. Then, we'll head back to our lodge, feeling enriched and inspired by all that we've experienced.

  • DAY 4: WEDNESDAY 6TH MARCH, 2024

    WILSONS PROMONTORY CRUISE


    Get ready for an adventure like no other! Today, we will be embarking on a thrilling journey through the rugged terrain of Wilsons Promontory National Park. Our destination is Tidal River where we will board an incredible amphibious boat courtesy of Pennicott Wilderness Journeys. As we set sail, we will be awestruck by the stunning coastline, featuring prehistoric boulders and crystal-clear waters. And just wait until you see Skull Rock! This iconic granite monolith, sculpted by waves, will leave you speechless. Its eerie facade becomes even more mysterious the closer we get. After an exhilarating morning of cruising and exploring, we will return to dry land to enjoy a delicious picnic lunch. And, of course, there will be plenty of time to explore Tidal River Reserve before heading back to our comfortable Prom Country Lodge.

  • DAY 5: THURSDAY 7TH MARCH, 2024

    GOURMET DAY—HEADING HOME


    Today, we will be exploring the bountiful produce of South Gippsland, starting with a visit to Blue Tree Honey Farm. We make our way to Korumburra and the Burra Brewing Co where we can taste their range of excellent brews and tuck into woodfired pizzas and perhaps learn about the brewing process – if the brewer’s not practicing his craft!  Our last visit for the day is Glen Forbes and Bassine Speciality Cheeses, a small cheese making concern. We’ll have a chat with the producers along with a sampling of their produce. Finally, back in Melbourne, our chauffeurs will be waiting for us to whisk us back home in style, all part of O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours superior service.

Complimentary Chauffeur Driven Transfers
Victorian passengers from Greater Melbourne, Bendigo, Torquay, Ballarat, Geelong, the Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas, Phillip Island and selected areas of Gippsland will be picked up from home in a private chauffeured vehicle by one of our professional drivers. 

For Victorian passengers not within this pick up zone, or our interstate passengers a quote can be provided for home pickup in extended areas. At the end of your tour, you will be safely returned home with memories of a sensational tour. 

Luxury Touring Coaches
Our full size, 3 axle luxury coaches have only 32-36 passenger seats allowing you even more personal space and extra leg room. Our coaches are fitted with comfortable reclining seats with aisle arm rests, foot rests, seat belts, panoramic windows with blinds, refrigerator for passenger use, restroom, climate control air conditioning and Road Cam monitors which display the road ahead in real time. Each coach has a second door for easier entry and exit and touchless hand sanitizer dispensers at each entry to help keep everyone safe. Our coaches have full air suspension delivering a smooth and quiet ride which also allows us to lower the coach closer to the ground, making boarding and disembarking even easier.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY


Receipt of payment of funds will be taken as acceptance of O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours conditions of travel for this tour. Prices include GST and all taxes.


Deposit is fully refundable until 46 days prior to departure date.

Balance due on invoice approximately 45 days prior to departure.

If a tour is cancelled for any reason by O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours before the departure date, all passengers will be offered the option of transferring to another tour of their choice, hold the funds in trust for a future tour or a full refund. There is no time limit as to when this must be used. If a lockdown is implemented while a tour is in progress, our first priority is the safety and wellbeing of our passengers and ensuring that we get each and every one of them home safely, and therefore we treat every situation individually.
