As a thank you for travelling with O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours, you will automatically receive a saving on the total tour price for your second and subsequent tours.


O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours will match single travellers who wish to twin share with another single traveller of the same gender.

However, if this is not possible, you will need to pay the single room supplement.


If you are willing to twin share but are a smoker, have a CPAP machine or snore, you will need to pay a single supplement for a sole use room.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel insurance is not compulsory, however the Australian Government (see www.smarttraveller.gov.au) recommends all travellers no matter where you are going, obtain comprehensive travel insurance from a reputable provider at the time the balance of the tour is to be paid. It may enable you to claim back the cost of your tour if you are unable to travel or must cancel at late notice.

  • DAY 1: Monday 18th January, 2027

    MELBOURNE TO WAGGA WAGGA


    Welcome to our holiday to the renown Tamworth Country Music Festival! With chauffeured pickup from home, we are transferred to meet our O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours coach and crew. We’ll make a stop for morning tea enroute to Benalla where we enjoy lunch. This afternoon’s journey takes us past Albury and on to Wagga Wagga with time to freshen up before dinner.

  • DAY 2: Tuesday 19th January, 2027

    WAGGA WAGGA TO DUBBO


    Our first stop this morning is the small town of Temora. Here we visit the Temora Aviation Museum – one of the finest collections of historic aircrafts in the world. It aims to acknowledge the role played by Australia’s ex-military aircraft and encourages visitors to learn and be inspired through its collection. Back on the road again we head to Forbes to stretch our legs and enjoy lunch. Later this afternoon we arrive at Dubbo where we refresh before dinner.

  • DAY 3: Wednesday 20th January, 2027

    DUBBO TO TAMWORTH


    Following breakfast we make our way to Dunedoo to see the painted silo featuring Winx, a retired champion Australian thoroughbred racehorse and her famous rider Hugh Bowman, who was born in Dunedoo. Also featured is Chris Waller, Winx’s trainer, whom without this very famous horse may not have been the true champion that she was. From here we travel to Spring Ridge for lunch before heading to Werris Creek where we visit the Australian Rail Journeys Museum. This once-bustling town, southwest of Tamworth, was specifically chosen by the NSW government in 1877 to be a gateway for rail travel and trade across the region. The rail depot and junction was once the heart of the town “that never slept”. Afterwards we head to Tamworth where we can settle in for the next four nights.

  • DAY 4: Thursday 21st January, 2027

    TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL


    This morning, we travel to Oxley Lookout, which offers a superb vantage point over the city and rich Peel Valley. After taking in the spectacular views, we visit the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame and learn all about the story of Australian country music. The museum contains fascinating exhibits and brilliant displays of memorabilia from legendary artists such as Tex Morton and Slim Dusty to new stars like Keith Urban and Kasey Chambers. Next, we enter The Big Golden Guitar Tourist Centre, a tribute to the rich music heritage. Make sure you get the full experience by visiting the National Guitar Museum and the Gallery of Stars Wax Museum, both located inside the centre. This afternoon the Tamworth Country Music Festival will be in full swing. The mixture of country music is endless during the 10-day

    festival with over 700 performers across 2,800 shows. Whilst here we have the opportunity to purchase tickets for those wishing to see a particular show, otherwise enjoy the vast amount of free entertainment on offer at the festival including buskers and street performers. Your time at the festival is at leisure so join in the celebrations!

  • DAY 5: Friday 22nd January, 2027

    EXPLORING FURTHER AFIELD


    Today we head to the pretty village of Uralla, with its lush scenery and gold rush history. We spend some time at leisure to explore this postcard-perfect town, before visiting the McCrossin’s Mill. This gorgeous old building houses excellent exhibitions about Captain Thunderbolt including a talk on the series of nine paintings that document the events that led to his death. Next, we visit Inverness Park Cashmere Farm where we’ll be taken through the process of shearing and spinning to the final product. Enjoying lunch here, we then return to Tamworth. Some may like to rejoin the Tamworth Country Music Festivities while others may choose to relax before dinner.

  • DAY 6: Saturday 23rd January, 2027

    TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL


    Today we have set aside a whole day to soak up the atmosphere and sing along to plenty of country music! The Tamworth Country Music Festival is an unforgettable festival experience like no other! We get together for an exciting show today (to be advised)!

  • DAY 7: Sunday 24th January, 2027

    TAMWORTH TO CAMPBELLTOWN


    This morning we thank our hosts and begin our journey home. We travel through horse stud country to Singleton where we enjoy lunch. This afternoon, we visit the Australian Army Infantry Museum. The museum collection ranges from the colonial armies and their first deployments overseas in the 19th century through to today’s diggers. Now, sit back and relax as we make our way to the outskirts of Sydney.

  • DAY 8: Monday 25th January, 2027

    CAMPBELLTOWN TO ALBURY


    This morning’s journey takes us through the Southern Highlands and on to Gunning where we enjoy lunch. Our afternoon stop is Gundagai, then we make our way to Albury for our

    final night on tour.

  • DAY 9: Tuesday 26th January, 2027

    ALBURY TO MELBOURNE


    Unfortunately, our holiday is coming to an end. We say farewell to Albury this morning and travel to Whitfield, a very pretty and very small town situated in a dairying and tobacco growing district in the highly scenic King River Valley where lush river flats are surrounded by some magnificent high country. From here we continue onto Mansfield which also has a colourful history of squatters, selectors, bushrangers, gold miners, packers, coachbuilders etc. It is famous for its magnificent scenery, farms, cattle, horses and hospitality. We have time to take a wander along the main street before lunch. We then head back to Melbourne where our chauffeur service will drop us to our very door with fantastic memories of the Tamworth Country Music Festival!

Complimentary Chauffeur Driven Transfers
Victorian passengers from Greater Melbourne, Bendigo, Torquay, Ballarat, Geelong, the Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas, Phillip Island and selected areas of Gippsland will be picked up and returned home in a private chauffeured vehicle by one of our professional drivers. For passengers not within this pick up zone, or our interstate passengers, a quote can be provided for home pickup in extended areas.

If a tour is cancelled for any reason by O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours before the departure date, all passengers will be offered the option of transferring to another tour of their choice, hold the funds in trust for a future tour or a full refund.
